  • The Kankakee Public Library has a local genealogist in the Genealogy Room every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from 1 to 5 p.m. to help anyone with genealogical research.

  • Meetings are held at the Kankakee Public Library, 3rd floor meeting room, 1:00 pm, unless otherwise noted. Meetings are free and open to the public.

  • June Meeting: Saturday, June 4, 2016 - Pam Lottinville will discuss her book Building Beaverville & Beyond -- a heart-warming memoir about a French community established in the 1850s and its growth.

  • August Meeting: Saturday, August 6, 2016 - Genealogy Help Day -- KVGS members will be present in the Genealogy Room at the Kankakee Public Library to give one-on-one help to anyone needing assistance with their genealogy. This includes beginners wishing to get started, anyone wanting help with the databases, breaking down brick walls, ect.
